Sleep Centers of Alaska offers patients with sleep disorders a continuum of specialized care from diagnostic testing and initial treatment to ongoing monitoring and disease management throughout the patient’s lifetime. We are dedicated to addressing all of your sleep-related issues and providing you with the best possible care.

The first step in the assessment of your sleep issue is for you to complete the patient questionnaires included in the Registration Packet.  The questionnaires provide the medical staff with detailed information about your sleep problems and any other health issues related to your condition.

During the initial consultation, a sleep specialist will discuss the information that you provided in the questionnaires and perform a focused  physical examination of your head and neck area. The specialist will then use the information from your sleep questionnaires,  medical history and physical examination  to evaluate your symptoms such as difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep, daytime sleepiness or fatigue, breathing problems during sleep, restless legs at night and other various behaviors.

Based on your symptoms and history, you and the sleep specialist will develop a treatment plan to resolve your sleep complaints.  If indicated, an overnight sleep study or other medical tests may be recommended.
